Tube8, an adult video service that is a subsidiary of Pornhub, has entered into a partnership agreement with Vice Industry Token (VIT), according to which users will receive payment for interacting with the service.
Hard Fork сообщаетthat the partnership aims to fully tokenize the Tube8 platform. Users will be rewarded in VIT tokens for viewing or other interactions with adult content. Tube8 spokesperson Robin Turner stated that "getting pay-per-view porn videos has always been an impossible dream":
Now, with the introduction of VIT, we are celebrating a paradigm shift in how people consume adult entertainment ... Previously, users just came in, watched a few videos and left the site, but VIT encourages them to create an account and interact with content to get VIT.
VIT CEO Stuart Duncan said that before launch, the platform would migrate with ethereum into a forem version of steem, called graphene.
VIT uses proof of stake and is completely decentralized. This is the only working fork of steem.
Earlier this year, Playboy TV and Stormy Daniels announced that they intend to use tokens as a reward system for viewers.
