Google announced a partnership agreement with two blockchain companies

Google Corporation 23 July announced a partnership agreement with two blockchain companies - Digital Asset and BlockApps. This agreement will allow it to offer on its own cloud platform Google Cloud Platform (GCP) new solutions for blockchain developers.

Digital asset

Digital Asset is a provider of blockchain solutions for the financial technology industry, and BlockApps offers a platform for running decentralized applications.

In a statement made on the eve of the Google Cloud Next '18 conference, representatives of the corporation promised that this year users will have the opportunity to test working with the Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum protocols on the Google Cloud platform.

The head of Digital Asset and former top manager of JP Morgan, Blythe Masters, quoted by Computerworld, noted that the forthcoming decision "will reduce technical barriers to blockchain developers."

This step will help Google to become one of the major league technology companies supporting the blockchain as a service (BaaS) scheme, along with Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and Amazon.

At the same time in March, Google announced that it intends to block any cryptocurrency advertising from June, following the example of Facebook (which, however, recently lifted the ban).

On July 8, Google co-founder Sergey Brin admitted that he was engaged in mining ether. Speaking at a summit in Morocco, Brin said that mining gives him additional income, and cryptocurrencies are “an amazing phenomenon.”
