IOHK Launches First Edition of Plutus, Cardano's Smart Contract Programming Guide

Hong Kong Input-Output (IOHK), a project research and development company Cardano, has just released the first edition of its book Plutus. The book, which will be available on Amazon and LeanPub, is a comprehensive guide to the Plutus programming language of the company and is designed to simplify the development process on Cardano.

New comprehensive e-guide just appeared on Amazon

After the success of its functional Haskell-based programming language, IOHK decided to create and publish a comprehensive Plutus guide. The company announced this on Twitter on July 31, stating that "Plutus: Writing reliable smart contracts" is available on Amazon и Leanpub.

According to the IOHK blog post, the manual was created by the company's educational team to simplify the development process on Cardano. Lars Brundges and Polina Vinogradova, the main authors of the book, said that the main idea of the book was to make it easier for people interested in writing highly reliable smart contracts to start working with Plutus.

IOHK said that the new Plutus e-book covers everything from smart contracts interacting with the blockchain to working code examples with line-by-line explanations. In addition, the book also provides an overview of how accounting works in Cardano, Vinogradova said.

Plutus will find good use in the accelerator laboratory of Cardano

The release of the Plutus e-book is part of a wider effort by IOHK to attract more people to the Cardano ecosystem. Emurgo, Cardano's commercial and venture capital division, launched a blockchain accelerator, dLab Blockchain accelerator, in partnership with SOSV earlier this year.

SOSV is a global venture capital firm with a portfolio of 800 companies with over $650 million in assets. While dlab is the first blockchain program the company has worked on, it is not the first blockchain accelerator it has founded. According to Sillicon Republic, the company employed Hax, RebelBio, IndiaBio, Chinaccelerator and Food-X, all start-up labs focused on growing technology and hardware companies around the world.

The SOSV program, developed in conjunction with Emurgo, provides initial funding and mentoring for blockchains and crypto-oriented startups, providing grants of up to 200 000 dollars and intensive co-programming for 14 weeks to young blockchain companies. In addition, dLab also has a scholarship program that funds individuals for the period from 6 months to a year to explore new topics in the field of decentralization.

Due to the increased interest in accelerators, dLab and Emurgo have announced that they have extended the application deadline. Individuals and start-ups can apply for funding and scholarship programs.
