How bitcoin fell. The loudest bitcoin cost drops

The volatility of the Bitcoin rate does not surprise anyone, but its history has been so dark days when even the most loyal supporters of cryptocurrency despaired.

We have compiled for you the history of the loudest bitcoin drops, when its value decreased by 30, 50, and even 80 percent.

2012

In the 2012 year, two noticeable bitcoin drops occurred at once, when from 12 to 27 in January, the cost of cryptocurrency dropped from 7 dollars 38 cents to 3 dollars 8 cents. And then in August, in just three days, the price of bitcoin fell from 16,41 to 7,1 dollars.

Today, these numbers seem ridiculous, but if you take the percentage of the change in value, then in 2012, the bitcoin fell first on 49, and then on 57 percent. And then it seemed to investors that it was a real disaster.

2013

2013 year was full of unpleasant surprises for Bitcoin and no one could predict what will happen tomorrow. The cost of the first cryptocurrency collapsed four times.

First, Bitcoin fell twice in March. From 6 to 7, the number of cryptocurrencies fell by 33 percent from 49 to 33 dollars. The next two weeks, Bitcoin was actively growing, but from 21 to 23 March again fell by 35 percent from 77 to 50 dollars.

And then there was April 2013 of the year and the three worst days in the history of Bitcoin, when the price fell by 83 percent from 260 to 45 dollars. And in November of the same year, Bitcoin fell again, just over a day, the exchange rate sank by 50 percent from 755 to 380 dollars.

2013-2015

In the autumn of 2013, the longest price drop in the current Bitcoin history began, which lasted until January 15 and 2015. These were the long 411 days of a cryptocurrency winter, when all the alcohol and the sedative ended, and with them the hope was gone. Bitcoin fell 87 percent from 1160 to 150 dollars.

After such a long fall, Bitcoin had to recover more than two years, only in January of 2017, the price went up again.

2017

2017 is called the most successful year for Bitcoin, when its value reached its peak and reached 20 thousand dollars. But it was not as rosy as it seems. First, Bitcoin fell by 34 percent from 1350 to 890 dollars in March. Then in May, the cost fell by 33 percent from 2750 to 1850 dollars.

The next black line came with the arrival of summer, when from June to July, Bitcoin fell by 39 percent from 2980 to 1830 dollars. And then investors struggled for their health in September with a fall of 40 percent from 4980 to 2970 dollars. And in November, when the price slipped by 30 percent from 7900 to 5550 dollars.

2018

And so we got to 2018 of the year, on which many hopes lay, but for the time being he was remembered with just one more major correction to the cost of Bitcoin, or rather, to call it one of the biggest falls.

In December, 2017 of the year Bitcoin reached a peak average price of thousands of 20 and after that it is in a long downtrend. The minimum cost was fixed 6 February and amounted to 6000 dollars. Thus, the rate of the first cryptocurrency fell by 70 percent. As a percentage, the ratio is not so scary, it was worse in 2013 and 2015.

We did not want to catch up with fear. Those who studied the numbers carefully, he noticed that every bitcoin drop was accompanied by a subsequent rise and a new record. We will continue to monitor Bitcoin and inform you.
