GonTub launches TON Open Source Ton Blockchain

The Telegram blockchain, the TON project, was delayed several times due to regulatory inconsistencies with the SEC and most recently postponed its launch indefinitely, since all its attempts to convince the regulators did not go as planned.

However, the operating system for its blockchain network, TON, does not have to bear the brunt, and it is ready to switch to Github open source until its official launch on Google Play and the Apple AppStore.

The news of TON Labs, which made the OS open source, was revealed on May 6 by Mitya Goroshevsky, Technical Director of TON Labs. The technical director explained that the TON OS will not be universal, such as Android or iOS, and is intended to improve the interaction of clients with blockchain-based systems and applications. He explained:

“Vitalik Buterin calls Ethereum the“ World Computer ”. If it is a global computer, it must have a processor and resources and provide services to the user.

But today there is no operating system or operating environment for managing these resources on the blockchain. ”

TON Launches TON Cash With Open Source OS

According to reportAn industry publication revealed that launching the open source TON OS will also include a command line interface, an intelligent multi-signature wallet contract, TON validator launch tools, and a TON host.

Apart from these tools and services launched an open source project. The report also revealed that TON Labs plans to release its decentralized browser – Surf – along with the DePool staking pool and even the new TON Cash token within a month of the open source launch.

TON-OS is designed to support blockchain applications and will also allow users to create blockchain applications that are compatible with the TON ecosystem. While regulatory issues with the native token, GRAM being a security offering, may still be triggered by independent validators.

With the release of TON Open Source, TON Labs is merging with the Free Software Foundation (FSF). As the name implies, FFS is the main free software movement, and TON Labs' decision to join this movement is to keep their TON blockchain project as decentralized as possible, which can be accessed by anyone for free.

The forked version of TON OS was launched during Zoom's three-hour stream, during which the first block (genesis) was launched. You can see the live stream here. On block explorer TON shows that they (at the moment) are at the level of about 5000 blocks.
