Telegram problems

In the Telegram messenger, which is used by many members of the crypto community, failures and problems began on Monday. While the company has faced pressure from authorities in Russia and Iran, new challenges are related to the technical side of the popular application. In one of the Telegram data centers, due to a power outage in Amsterdam, there were interruptions in work in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Russia and the CIS countries.

IOTA was out of partnership

On Tuesday, it became known that UCL (University College London) severed its relationship with the IOTA Foundation due to the foundation's threats against critics who considered the technology and declared it to be ineffective.

Hack Vertcoin and Coinmarketcap update

Hackers, persistent pests in the cryptosphere, are back in the spotlight on Wednesday. This time, the scammers hacked into the official Vertcoin Twitter account and managed to trick several of the network's followers into receiving cryptocurrency from them in exchange for empty promises.

In addition, the five-year anniversary of the popular Coinmarketcap resource took place this week, and in honor of the event, the site unveiled a new logo, a mobile app for iOS, and added some new features.

Cryptotraders problems

Several unpleasant events for some traders happened on Thursday. Bitgrail, an Italian crypto exchange that suspended operations after losing 17 million XRB, resumed operations briefly and was soon closed again by order of the Florentine court.

Btcxchange, the oldest cryptocurrency trading platform in Romania, this time apparently closed forever after a series of setbacks that had plagued it over the years. Shapeshift CEO Eric Voorhees pounced on Twitter at Chase Bank, which closed the exchanges without warning or explanation.

Among other news on Thursday, the largest American cryptocurrency exchange and storage company Coinbase welcomed the study by the New York attorney general to gain insight into industry business practices. In turn, this was in stark contrast to Kraken CEO Jesse Powell's vigorous rebuke, who took a bold stance against this regulatory endeavor.

The latest developments in mining were in the spotlight on Friday. These include a mining hotel in Moscow, the release of a new Zcash mining ASIC by Bitmain, and even mining trucks.

Italian inventors are planning to embed mining farms in cargo containers that are installed on trucks, and thus create fast moving mobile farms. As conceived by the creators, mining trucks can easily move to regions with cheap electricity and the most favorable regulation rules.

On Friday, it also became known that a team of Belarusian developers is creating the True Mining Simulator project, a computer game dedicated to reproducing the life experience of a cryptocurrency miner.
