Selection: 5 Anonymous Bitcoin Wallets

One of the main principles of cryptocurrencies is anonymity. So the last thing you want is for your bitcoin wallet to reveal your privacy.

Fortunately, you have several genuinely anonymous Bitcoin wallets to choose from:

1. Unstoppable

Unstoppable is a decentralized crypto wallet application that is rapidly growing in popularity. We believe this is one of the best anonymous bitcoin wallets on the market.

The application works on a peer-to-peer basis. The only centralized aspect is third party data that is used to provide real exchange rates. The application code is completely open.

Unstoppable supports more than 50 coins, including Bitcoin, leading ERC tokens 20, BNB, Dai and Maker.

In terms of anonymity, you are never asked for your name or contact information, there are no identity checks, and no third-party servers store your transaction data.

2. Wasabi wallet

Another of the best anonymous wallets is Wasabi. According to the developers, it is “an open source, non-custodial Bitcoin wallet.”

To maintain its anonymity, Wasabi uses Chaumian Zero Link CoinJoins on Tor. The main process is technical; most people don't need to know how it works.

In simple terms, CoinJoins acts like a Bitcoin wallet mixer. They can help hide the relationship between outgoing and incoming transactions. This prevents anyone from tracking the digital signature chain on the blockchain to find out about your spending habits. You can see a basic diagram of how this process works in the image above.

Wasabi is only available on desktop operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux). No Android or iOS version. For people who spend a lot of time using crypto while on the go, it may not work.

3. Samourai wallet

Samourai Wallet is one of the newest anonymous bitcoin wallets. It has two main goals: to remain anonymous and to keep transactions private. There is a mobile version (only available on Android) and a desktop version (Windows, Mac, Linux).

The wallet remains anonymous thanks to Ricochet and STONEWALL technologies.

Ricochet is an on/off switch that helps ensure that your transactions are not marked as suspicious when sent to third party exchanges (even if you are on one of the blacklists published by Blockchain surveillance algorithms).

STONEWALL modifies your transactions so they don't leave a trail of public metadata. This creates a level of statistical doubt about the relationship between the sender and the recipient, which means that blockchain surveillance firms cannot control you.

Another of the most impressive features of the Samourai wallet is its battery life. You can broadcast your cryptocurrencies using SMS or offline network.

4. Rahakott

Rahakott is an anonymous bitcoin wallet that positions itself as one of the best alternatives to apps like Electrum and mycelium.

In a sense, the application is similar to Unstoppable. You can create a new wallet in less than 15 seconds and you will never be asked to provide identifiable information.

However, for even greater anonymity, the Rahakott app works like a bitcoin wallet mixer. It will run in the background to anonymize your transactions and greatly reduce the chances of someone being able to trace them. It also offers the optional "Strong Blending" feature. This will intentionally break the chain of receiving and sending addresses, making tracing impossible.

To use Strong Mixing, you need to pay 10x the commission (that's not much for such a service, believe me). You will be charged one percent of the total transaction value.

On the other hand, Rahakott supports significantly fewer coins than Unstoppable. You can only make six wallets. These are Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoin Cash, ZCash and Ethereum.

Rahakott is only available on the Web.

5. Pint wallet

PINT Wallet is a decentralized anonymous bitcoin wallet available only on Android. In addition to its wallet features, it also has a built-in peer-to-peer cryptocurrency market.

When setting up, no personal data is required, and the keys for your wallet are located on your mobile device. If you lose your phone, you can use the app's built-in anti-theft feature to remove it from your old device and restore it to your new one.

Currently, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash and Dogecoin are supported. You can even send and receive other ERC 20 coins like OmiseGo, Golem, and Power Ledger.

The P2P functionality is assisted by encrypted chat. Buyers and sellers can communicate prior to making a deal. PINT also has an escrow; the seller's assets remain in their wallet until the buyer confirms the deal.

Finally, PINT is compatible with Changelly and Shapeshift. You can use the app to compare transfer prices and find the best deal.
