Step-by-step setup of Vega 56 / Vega 64

I myself am their happy owner. And I would like to create a theme with the most complete information about Vega. And guides on their setup.

Instructions basic working from foreign users

1) http://www.gandalph3000.com/cast_xmr/howto-mine-monero-rx-vega/
From the creator of the miner cast_xmr with mini settings.
- A simple instruction without tools, wattmans and other bells.
2) http://vega.miningguides.com/
Hodgepodge here and flashing and turning on and off when starting HBCC and editing the registry. Only for experienced miners.

- My personal instruction on how it all worked for me.

1) Connect the 1 Vega 56 / 64 to the PCI-Express X4 or X16 connector without risers directly to the motherboard.
2) Format the HDD / SSD with Windows and install Windows 10 (this is important! Zero Windows installed on the Nvidia card adds hemorrhoids. Only a clean installation from scratch.
3) Start the system.
3.1) Install this program here
– https://miningclub.info/resources/vykljuchaem-lishnee-v-windows-10.157/ kill updates, etc.
3.2) Increasing the amount of virtual memory
Control Panel / System and Security / Advanced System Settings / Advanced
Click on the button Options> Performance Options> Advanced>
We see the inscription virtual memory and click Modify. We specify gigabytes per vega for 15. (If there is not so much memory, you can put gigovs on the map on 8, experienced from the forum say and it works)
I have their 4 so we will put 60 000 mb.
Initial size 59000 - Maximum size 60000 my case
Initial size 32000 - Max size 32000 - should work too

4) In the control panel, we change the power settings
Power / Changing Circuit Settings
Turn off the display: Never
Put the computer into sleep mode: Never

Click Save Changes.
5) Download Blockchain drivers from the official AMD site
https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-ar…eta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx
6) Install the drivers and all their components and wait for the card to calm down. During the installation, we don’t touch or pull anything; at the end of the installation, the program will offer a reboot, usually when it is clicked, it can also hang. Feel free to let the system in reboot.
7) After installing the drivers click on
Games> Global Settings>
we will have two columns
1 - Global Graphics (Radeon RX Vega)
2 - Global Wattman(Radeon Rx Vega)
in the first column, we need to press the HBCC Memory Segment button and turn it on. And then click apply. The driver will reboot.
Here is an important nuance. Sometimes a tick is already enabled, but HBCC is actually disabled. AMD knows about this problem and, in principle, suggests not paying attention to it, that is, if HBCC is enabled and the hash rate is small, then simply move the slider to the disabled position and about the miracle HBCC will actually work.

then go to 2 - Global Wattman(Radeon Rx Vega)
and do not touch anything there except the settings of the cooler.
SPEED (RPM) Manually
Put the slider in the on position and increase the speed of the cooler. This is necessary so that when the miner is first launched, the card does not heat up to 78 degrees and does not start smoking with gaskets.

8)
Run miner. In my case it is cast_xmr.
Batch file example
cast_xmr-vega -S xmr-eu.dwarfpool.com:8100 -u 47BCGhAqrj8ZN5UQgLkW7x5qx7vrYQwMwHDiPsNEhQdMCbnC6UGYzP8GccsHPAUffN4c8NLJoU4bBMp2sjiXuwTx59gJZ7J -G 0 %*
and look at the indicators Hashrate
there should be a 1500-1900 depending on the card. If the values are less, turn off the miner and go to the driver to enable / disable HBCC Memory Segment.
Leave the miner to work like this 15-20 minutes.
9) Turn off the miner through the q button. If you zhahnut on a cross in a batch file, there is a chance somewhere percent 20, that the drivers will fall off (not very good for us)
10) We transfer the map to the riser and once again launch the miner. If everything is ok, then we connect the second card. We connect the card to a separate braid and a riser to a separate braid. This is not 1050; it is very capricious in stock. Xnumx on braid = hemorrhoids.
IMPORTANT! Do not connect the 3-4 cards right away, out of the box they load the power supply unit hard and the whole system flies to the eternal reboot or crashes the driver. AMD know this problem and promise to fix it.
When you connect a second card in the drivers, a rectangle appears
AMD CrossFire should be in the Off position. (Disabled that is)
Usually, if one turns on to turn it on immediately off, if not, then turn it off.
Now we have a 4 column, respectively, each map has its own settings and Wattman.
Repeat points 8 and 9. After adding the following card to the batch file in -G 0,1, we make changes.
11) Run the miner. And go to the Wattman game. We put -10 on the core and -5 on power and memory is left on the standard values (800).
As the miner works, every minute we add -5 for the core and -1 for power until we have a value of -20 core - 10 Power consumption limit (%). I do not recommend setting the parameters -30/950/-10 right away, because sometimes it goes into artifacts and the devil would understand why.
After we have fixed local success, we do the same with memory. Here the step can be different. I throw on 20, while on 940 turns out. Somewhere I leave the stock, because Hynix is so far from Samsung (well, you understand, as Valera says)
12) If there is a 3 and 4 card, add them in turn, and repeat the whole process. Sometimes it looks ridiculous, the 4 maps in the global chart for three HBCCs are disabled for one card while it actually works on all maps.
13) Run the miner and enjoy stable work. When connecting 2 and more cards sometimes hash rate decreases. I get somewhere 1650-1900 h / s per second depending on the card. And the 1 error on the 20 000 ball is somewhere. All works without stopping for a week. Consumption somewhere 220-240 on the card.
PS Add screenshots soon to make it clearer.
If there are any strange moments, please try to explain.
I ask you not to throw tomatoes in, I know you are all sewing bios with one right hand and the timings with one hand and the registry is understood from birth. I wrote for newbies like me. Successes to all!
