According to John McAfee's wallet review, BitFi is a scam

The famous John McAfee cryptocurrency in the past few days has seriously advertised its recently released BitFi wallet. And yet a message appeared on Reddit a few hours ago with a loud headline: SCAM!

McAfee is promoting a new “invulnerable” hardware wallet. Do not give in. The CEO of this hardware wallet was also previously under the SEC scanner.

Nobody needs John McAfe's wallet. His five messages a day about the benefits of a BitFi wallet can be seen on every corner. He claims to have found a way to “use the brain as a wallet,” which makes BitFi completely invulnerable:

The tweets were as bold as a challenge to the entire community about hacking this $ 100 000 wallet for everyone who managed to crack it. The company will even give the hackers a bitFi device for hacking.

However, “the so-called ‘unrecoverable’ is just another marketing gimmick, as even the best cryptocurrency can be hacked if enough resources are spent on hacking it,” a Reddit user began.

Not only do they assume that Bitfi is actually hacked, they also claim that they found out that the wallet is a scam and published a detailed report on their research. The author reported having debunked the challenge put forward by McAfee:

“Indeed, you need to spend $ 120 on a Bitfi device, and then pay another $ 50 to“ preload it with coins, ”even try, and then you need to hack the wallet associated with the particular device that they send you. If the researcher found, for example, that the device had a weak RNG, which allowed them to recover keywords by examining a series of transactions generated by it, they would not win the reward. They also will not find a way to capture their automatic update system to install the keylogger. ”

Some of the other disadvantages / misleading aspects related to BitFi are related to the fact that the company claims that it is an open source wallet, but the code is not yet split. It shows that the company, in fact, asks hackers to find out the secret key of the address, which is actually not a way of cryptography hacking: “There are hundreds of other ways to steal coins. To hack something, a hacker must at least know the code. This task is designed to deceive people who do not know cryptography. ”

The same report also stated that the BitFi CEO was indicted by the SEC for several reasons, including misappropriation of company assets after his resignation. And notified that the user funds are not insured in any way.

“Last but not least, any crypto company that decides to hire McAfee for a promotion should be seen with suspicion,” the Reddit user concluded.
