Opera's web browser, built-in crypto-wallet launches support for Tron, TRC tokens

Opera’s web browser added support for TRON (TRX) and TRC standard tokens to its built-in crypto wallet, according to a press release published by the Cointelegraph on May 9 May.

Last year, Opera pioneered the features of a crypto wallet and Web3.0 for its Android browser by launching the product in December 2018 with support for Ethereum (ETH) and interaction with decentralized applications (DApps).

“WEB 3” is a term that was originally coined to refer to efforts to develop a semantic web, and is increasingly being used to refer to the evolution of a smarter, open and distributed web that can integrate the use of decentralized computing using blockchain. and cryptocurrencies.

According to today's press release, support for another major blockchain will allow hundreds of millions of Opera users to play games on the Tron platform and access Tron applications in an integrated user interface, without requiring third-party extensions or applications.

In a statement, Christian Colondra, executive vice president of operations for Opera, said that by working with several blockchains, the company is seeking to accelerate the massive adoption of Web 3.

As previously reported, the emerging Opera browsers with a crypto-wallet and Web 3 include a desktop version, as well as an early access program called Opera Touch for iOS.

In February, Opera added a new service that allowed users in Sweden, Norway and Denmark to buy broadcast via the Android browser version.

At the same time, the company continued to explore the development of future blockchain applications within its products and the ecosystem, in particular, in partnership with Ledger Capital, which provides consulting and financial services for the blockchain.

In the same month, when Opera released its own cryptocurrency for Android last year, electronics provider Sirin Labs launched its first blockchain-based smartphone, offering cryptocurrency with cold storage and support for encrypted communication.

This week, consumer electronics giant HTC has also started trading a cryptocurrency inside the wallet for users of its Exodus 1 smartphone with a blockchain.

Earlier this week, co-founder and chief technical officer of Tron left office, saying that the Tron project had become overly centralized and deviated from its underlying principles.

To reduce time, tron (TRX) is the 11 of the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization and is trading at $ 0,028, increasing by 10% per day.
