PornHub adds (USDT) as a payment option after the ban on PayPal

Pornhub, a popular adult site, has updated its payment methods and added Tether (USDT) as an option. Just a few months after PayPal stopped supporting the platform, the world of cryptocurrency presents a viable alternative.

TRON and USDT on Pornhub

Platform for adults announced that, as the new payment method, the most widely used Tether stablecoin (USDT) system has been added. The report clarifies that USDT is supported by the US dollar, "which means that one USDT token is equal to one US dollar." In addition, he adds that USDT transactions "can be completed globally in a few seconds, with no fees."

PornHub also explained that it will use USDT, which is issued on the TRON network. Consequently, users can use cryptocurrency wallets that support digital assets based on TRON.

Justin Sun, founder and CEO of TRON, also shared his views on the issue, saying that this is "a brilliant way to support victims of centralized payment platforms such as PayPal."

The announcement also states that PornHub integrates Cosmo Payment as another payment option.

PayPal left PornHub

As Sun mentioned on Twitter, Pornhub's need for alternative payment methods came about last year. At this point, the most widely used payment service PayPal decided to stop supporting the platform for adults.

Then the cryptocurrency community quickly reacted, suggesting that it was in this direction that digital assets should receive additional mass distribution, demonstrating their advantages. Some of the more prominent supporters, including Sun CEO and Binance Changpen Zhao, talked about this opportunity.

It is worth noting that Verge (XVG) and several other cryptocurrencies were already used as payment methods at that time. However, all transfers of digital assets represent less than 1% of all transactions.

This may change soon with the latest announcement from TRON and Tether. Using both, PornHub can truly provide a sustainable alternative that can help a huge number of adult movie actors and website users.
