Steemit migration to TRON blockchain, new partnership

TRON effectively acquired blogging platform.

Steemit has entered into an extensive strategic partnership with the TRON Foundation. Although TRON does not call the change acquisition, it seems that the result will be the same.

According to a Medium post released by TRON on Friday, February 14th. The company writes:

The TRON and Steemit development teams will immediately begin working together to introduce DApps based on Steemit and other Steem on the TRON blockchain and its community with over 20 million users, products and services.

The main Steem blogging application (Steemit) and STEEM token will be switched to TRON in the future. Steem-based DApps will also be able to upgrade to TRON. However, it is unclear whether the migration is voluntary or the Steem blockchain will continue to exist in its current form.

The news also marks a major shift in Steamit's image. Steemit was created by Dan Larimer, the creator of EOS. Although EOS and Steemit have never been officially linked, they are closely related in public perception - and this perception may change if TRON succeeds in changing the image of Steemit.

Will it promote growth?

Steemit has a lot to offer. Although he is best known for his cryptocurrency-stimulating blogging application, he also supports several other moderately popular DApps.

Among the most notable blockchain DApps are the YouTube-style video-sharing platform DTube, the Instagram-style photo-sharing app APPICS, and the collectible trading game Steem Monsters.

Assuming every Steem DApp migrates to TRON, the partnership should add approximately 100 DApps to the current TRON list of 700 DApps. This will also add 1 million users to TRON's current 20 million users - although the daily active users of each platform are much lower in practice.

TRON also intends to take an active part in the adoption. He will distribute STEEM tokens to attract users and offer an accelerator program to encourage DApp development.

Other acquisitions of TRON

TRON built its brand by acquiring other high-profile projects. The most famous, he acquired BitTorrent in 2018, which led to the creation of BitTorrent Token and several other related projects.

In addition, TRON creator Justin Sun was part of a group of investors who acquired a stake in Poloniex last year. After the acquisition, Poloniex quickly listed the TRON token on its exchange. In the end, she acquired one of TRON's own exchanges, TRX Market.

The acquisition of TRON Steemit has already begun. The TRON community started talking about this possibility in December, when Justin Sun hinted at a new acquisition.

Ultimately, this acquisition touched the DLive video streaming platform, but rumored to be the acquisition of Steemit in the end also turned out to be true.
